Somnia is a customisable programme designed to enrich your life by helping you sleep well. 

My name is Dr. Kat Lederle. I’m a sleep science and therapy expert. Somnia is an individually tailored sleep programme for anyone struggling to get a good night’s rest.  

If you’re having a hard time falling asleep, or staying asleep at night, then you may also feel like you’re missing out on what’s happening during the day. Through Somnia, I can help you get the most out of your daytime life by working through those tough nights.

No two people face the exact same sleep problems.

Difficult sleep can arise for many reasons. I will give you the knowledge and confidence you need to recognise and work through the root causes of your sleep issues. I use a behavioural approach informed by the latest research. Instead of focusing on “don’ts” or instilling harsh and controlling rules, we’ll work together to craft a Personalised Sleep Plan to meet your specific needs.   

If you’re willing to put the work in, it often only takes 2-3 hours to set you on the path to better sleep habits. We’ll meet on video chat across three sessions, and work together to develop the skills you need to get the rest you need.

Using my academic knowledge and experience as a sleep practitioner, I decided to write a book taking the reader through the science of sleep and why it is important for every single one of us, irrespective whether you are a short or long sleeper. My aim is to empower you, the reader, to take steps that are right for you to sleep well.

What Somnia is sharing

While alcohol is a common way to 'unwind' and can even make us feel 'sleepy' quicker on an evening, it CAN threaten the quality of your sleep. With more alcohol comes the increased risk of interrupted sleep and therefore your sleep cycle. Interrupted sleep does not give us the good quality sleep we're looking to create. Do you find this to be true? How well rested do you feel after a night's sleep which began with alcohol? This is only one of the many ways we can monitor our own behaviours and habits to welcome good sleep.
