Dr. Katharina Lederle, Community Manager

Dr. Katharina Lederle

Consultant human sleep and fatigue specialist.

Uses evidence-based insight and her hands-on, practical knowledge about sleep science, sleep therapy and sleep-related matters to help people sleep well and feel good.

Katharina has an MSc in Biosciences from Ruprecht-Karls University, Heidelberg, and a PhD in Human Circadian Physiology and Behaviour (the human body clock) from the University of Surrey. Katharina is also trained in Mindfulness and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

She has helped many people with insomnia and has advised national and international airlines, emergency helicopter services and petrochemical and mining companies around the world on the issues of insomnia, fatigue and sleep deprivation.

MA, FRSA - Design strategy and innovation specialist.

Main fields of interest are health and wellbeing. Combines advanced skills in design, business strategy and new technology to create products that benefit people, businesses and not-for-profits.

Works with businesses and organisations large and small. Previous employees include Accenture Interactive, Pembridge Partners LLP and Ogilvy. Runs not for profit design collective The XDs) .

Liz Thomas

BSc Meteorology from Reading University and Graduate Certificate in Statistics from Birkbeck

An experienced data analyst who combines statistical programming and querying skills with her aptitude for identifying how to turn data into useful information.

As an undergraduate she studied the applied science of meteorology and more recently, statistics. Liz divides her time between Somnia-led projects and working for the Parliamentary Digital Service, where she manages a small team of data analysts who provide inputs that aid decision-making.

Computer Science, University College London - User experience designer and interface developer.

Has deep expertise in creating aesthetically pleasing, useful applications - products and services to deliver increasingly beneficial impacts to service users and to society as a whole.

What makes him special is how he combines his skills in a number of technologies to create innovative digital services and products. Technologies he uses include HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript as a well as Illustrator, Axure and Sketch and of course, pen and paper to create meaningful user experiences.

Highly skilled design practitioner working in graphics, image manipulation, digital photography.

Her cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural approach (she works in London and Copenhagen) means she is able to generate and develop new ideas, concepts and identities that work beautifully across a mix of different formats, including analog and digital.
